Picnic!

Today was the combine Lloydminster and Vermilion branch picnic. We packed up the car this morning and headed down to the Vermilion park. As soon as we got to the park sister Choi (from vermilion) came and took baby. We got unpacked, then decided to get right into the activities. We played volley ball, Frisbee, Bocce ball, a traditional korean game the Choi (from Vermilion) taught us, and a game I would call "Log cabin" (which our team won, lol). I had a lot of fun. Baby was "visiting" with the sisters from the Vermilion branch.

When time came to eat, I was ready to just seat and relax from all the fun and excitement I had. It was really beautiful out. I love the park in Vermilion. After lunch, we went for a walk with Indie and Daniel.

Mommy, I want to see what grandma is doing? :)

I am hungry!!!

Fire in the back yard!

Last night, late last night, the boys decided to do a fire in the back yard. They got the camping chairs, the marshmallows, and the weiner sticks out and off we went. Baby was sleeping, so we took turn going in to check on him. We had fun. It was beautiful out, and it was so neat to see my brother enjoy his first marshmallow roasting. The weather was perfect for that too. The boys also got out the smokeys. My brother and I reminisced at times about the silly things we used to do or say. We all had so much fun. We will definitely be doing this again.

Petting Zoo!

There was a gas leak in the blue apartments by my house yesterday. At first I didn't think a lot about it, but then the smell of the gas started to be stronger and stronger, so I decided to take my brother and son to the petting zoo just in case something happens :).

I am glad we did it. We had a lot of fun, and baby seemed to have enjoyed the outing. He kept staring at the animals and giving them smiles. My brother saw animals he has never seen before, and we also got to meet the owners of the zoo. We had quite a lengthy conversation with them.

First Father's Day!!!

First thing Marc did this morning, was opening the little presents I made for him for his first Father's Day. Baby even helped me finished one of the presents I made for his daddy. My gifts were simple BUT Marc loved them a lot. I printed a picture of a tree I found on my computer, then used baby's thumb print to do the leaves on the tree. I then, framed the picture. I also wrote him some love notes, made a card, and prepared a couch potato kit for him to enjoy any time he wants to just relax.

After Church, we had a light lunch then headed to Vermilion for supper where his mom prepared some of his favorite foods. We had a good time with family. The Vermilion branch put on a mini concert at the church at 7pm. One of the member from their branch played a number of songs on the piano. The concert was a success. Kevin played the piano beautifully. We could feel the spirit throughout it all. They had a great turn out (mostly non members). It was really nice to end our day this way.

Father's Day photo before Church :)

 Another one.

 Picture baby helped me with.
He so willingly let me paint his thumb :).
It was nice to have uncle Yann's help too.

Potato couch kit and the card I made.

Little nap before heading to the concert.
It's nice that grandma has carpet in her living room.

The Quest...

On Friday, I met a lady who is opening a day home come September. I had a lot of questions regarding methods, snacks, activities, and more that she would be doing if she was to look after my precious little boy. Although her resume showed that she had a lot of experiences when it comes to looking, and caring for children, I kept "seeing" red flags popping in front of my eyes. Don't get me wrong, she is probably good at doing what she does BUT it just didn't feel like she was the right person to look after my son.
I am meeting another lady soon, and am hoping that everything will go well with her. I hope to find someone that I could trust.

When I came back from seeing that lady on Friday, I felt a little sad that I was going out to find someone to look after someone as precious to me as my son is. As soon as I got back in the house, I grabbed Yann and tried to give him a kiss when all of a sudden, he put his left hand on my cheek, and gave me a kiss on the lips. I almost cried, and couldn't help being grateful for witnessing such a beautiful act. I do want to go back to work. BUT I also don't want to miss the cutest, and most innocent things my son can do.

I will keep looking for the right person, and if I can't find this person, well I will stay home with my son until he goes to school. I love working with the people I work with. I love the feeling of being independent. I don't need to be working outside the house but I like doing it. I am sure my Heavenly Father has a plan for me. Whatever the outcome, I will do what He wants me to do.

Feeling better.

My baby has been sick for a few days but is feeling way better now. On Saturday, baby had a really stuffy nose, and started coughing a lot. It seemed to have gone really good on Sunday but then it got worse but not to the point where we needed to take him to the hospital. He was having such a hard time sleeping because he had troubles breathing, so it was hard to see him going through it. Every time I went to put him in his bed, he would just start screaming, and couldn't breath properly unless he slept on the pillow with me. So, for a few days, baby slept with momma and daddy.

Now, he can sleep in his bed, and is breathing better. I took him to nurse Tiffany :), who listened to his little lungs, and she said every thing was okay. His lungs are clear.

Seeing him being sick was a bit hard. I felt so useless at time. He screamed a lot too, and was "crabby" at time which wasn't necessary fun :). I am glad he is feeling better. He is playing, smiling, and laughing. I love my little boy.

Laying next to my baby
while he was napping.

 Fell asleep in daddy's arms.

It's been a week!

My brother has been here for about a week now. We are so happy to have him with us. When I first left Tahiti, he was just a teenager, and now he is such a wonderful man. Really mature, and full of life experiences  that shaped the AWESOME man he is. So far, my favorite time with him since he got here is, the night he came to me and said he wanted to talk. He hugged me, and we spent a whole night talking and laughing in our deck until 6am in the morning. I love him, and love how he makes me laugh to the point I have tears running down my cheeks :). Sometimes, we laugh so much that it almost hurt to do so.

He is an AWESOME uncle to my son. Every time Yann sees his uncle (in our house), he can't help smiling. They play together, and sometimes uncle looks after him in the morning so that I can sleep in for a few hours. Uncle feeds him at time, and makes his bottle. He is really good at feeding baby his food with a spoon. Uncle also takes baby for walks so I can have a time to myself and finish some house work. I am being spoiled :))).

My brother also helps us a lot around the house. When I came home from church on Sunday, he had supper all cooked and ready to eat. Last night, he barbecued some chicken. Yann (my brother) makes the best barbecued chicken ever. Marc loves it (so do I, although I am not a big fan of chicken). and was looking forward to eat it.  Yann also mowed the lawn for me, and moved my side walk blocks to make my patio look better.

He's been so willing at helping my friends too!!!

I am happy to have him close to me, and am hoping that the time will go slow while he is here :))). My brother is a great guy. He has such a big heart <3.

After a long walk with uncle :)

 Sweet moments <3

 Playing, and laughing with uncle.

He's on his way!!!

It's 2:14am, my brother's plane just took off from the airport in Tahiti (my sister just Facebooked me). I have been working all day to make sure that I got every thing ready for him, and that the house is spanking clean. I cannot sleep at all. My face hurts for smiling all day knowing that my brother will be here soon. One of my best friend and I made leis tonight to welcome my brother the Tahitian way (yes, leis!). I AM REALLY REALLY EXCITED!!!!

Here's a picture that my sister posted on Facebook tonight,
of my parents and their"baby" boy before he got in the plane :)

I got his bedroom all cleaned up. Got him a basket full of goodies,
and a journal to write about his time here.

Our table after we've made the leis.
Jasmin and I just used Lilacs.

Me and my silly smile. It was really hot in the house :)

I love Sundays!!!

Once again, we went to the park and had another potluck picnic with friends. We ate, then went for a very long walk. It was beautiful out! I really like the fact that we are doing this every Sundays whether we are with friends or just our little family. What a great tradition. We're hoping to do this again, next week with or without friends.

I have enjoyed taking pictures of the park to show to my family. There are a lot of nice plants that I find really beautiful in the park.

Meeting moms!

On Friday, baby and I went to the park (Bud Miller) to meet a couple mothers with their babies and toddlers. We met by the playground, and visited for a while before going on a walk around the park. We saw Jen and Kari with the kids. I am glad to meet new people, especially mothers, so that baby and I can get out of the house, and go for walks or play dates.

Monday, we are going to meet other moms, and go for a walk. This time, we'll meet one of them at her house, and just walk to the park near by. One of the mom we met on Friday just moved here from Medecine hat.

My little man fell asleep
as soon as we started our walk :)

It's amazing how mothers like to talk about their babies. It's AWESOME that I can talk about motherhood with them. And so AWESOME that now, I can be part of the "mommy club". It's not so exclusive any more. I am looking forward to meeting new people.

My son and I.

I love saying this simple phrase, my son and I. Yann is almost 5 months old. It is so amazing to see how much he has grown. Life hasn't been the same since he joined our family. In 5 months, he turned our world upside down. The long quiet evenings, Marc and I used to enjoy are now almost all gone. But yet, what a joy to hear him giggle, and make sounds, and NOT such a joy to hear him scream, and scream, and scream :). Sleeping in, is now, just a memory, a thing of the past, something that hasn't happened in months. But, how I love seeing my baby's cute little face when I go in his room, and see how excited he is to see me, unless of course, he is welcoming me with screams, and screams, and screams :). Our old routines have been replaced by new ones. Some EXTREMELY enjoyable, some not so much. Being a mother is, like they say, the greatest calling I have ever had but like most callings, I have moments where I feel overwhelmed, and tired. Never tired of my son but of the constant screaming, when nothing I do seems to help him. I LOVE my son, and I LOVE being his mother. Like Marc said, I am so privileged, so lucky to witness all those little things he does that no ones but me gets to see. Or witness his firsts whatever they may be. I will never be able to replace those memories we are creating together, but will one day be able to sleep in, even if it takes years to get there. I LOVE my son, and I LOVE being his mother. It is so sweet to see him grow so fast, yet so bitter too. Because the time will come when I won't be able to lift him up, and hold him the way I love too. My son and I, what a pair we are!what a blessing it is to be able to call him my son. He is making our family a stronger US. I LOVE my son, and I LOVE being his mother.

Nap time!!!

Yann sleeps anywhere for nap time BUT his own bed. He only sleeps in his bed at night. I tried to put him down for his nap but he just wouldn't go.

On momma's lap...

... again, momma was too busy "working"
on the computer :)

 On the floor...

 ... again.

On the couch! Again, momma is "working"on the computer.

Mini pedicure.

This morning, after baby was all fed and changed, I decided to give him a pedicure, just to do something different. We played first then I went and grab all that I needed for his baby pedicure. Nothing extravagant. Just nail clippers, cream, water to wash his feet, and some kisses. I had a lot of fun doing it, and he seemed so relaxed. Why not pampered your babies little feet even if they don't walk yet. I had fun. It wasn't long but it was really really fun to do.

I love playing and do different things with him. I need to cut his hair BUT I am so afraid to hurt him. Next blog post, if I have the courage to do it would be Baby's first hair cut.
