Two Thousand Seventeen! A year in review, part 2.

July! July always starts with Canada Day and this year (2017) was an exceptional year since we celebrated the 150th anniversary of Canada also known as the 150th anniversary of the Confederation.

As usual, we hit the free pancake breakfast offered by the town of Taber, and enjoyed all of the fun that was provided by a few groups, businesses and members of this beautiful community that Taber is. Marc had to work that day, so it was just the boys and I.

Face painting, riding horse, playing games at the fire fighters station, bouncing castles and so on was among all the fun that was had by the boys. We divided the day in two, so we could go home for lunch and relieve ourselves. The apartment was decorated in red and white, and flags were hung around the place. After an hour break, we walked back to Confederation park and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon. Thing started to slow down a bit, and I was ready to go home.

We waited for Marc to be home, and had a wonderful dinner of barbecued meat. We got ready for the fireworks but sadly it got cancelled once we got there because the wind was having a show of its own. It was a great day even though we missed papa. I couldn't have been happier to have chosen this beautiful country as a second home.

Like every year, we got the boys gator out for them to ride at parks. We went out to the farmer's market every Thursday, and enjoyed soft served ice cream at Dave's Drive in Taber almost weekly.

Really good treat!

Sunday July 09th, 2017,
We decided to go for a drive after Church. The drive took us to Milk River. It was a great to spend a Sunday as a family. No money was spent on anything, and fun was had. The boys who are still very much into dinosaurs had a blast.  The visitor's center alone is worth visiting. It's free and there is plenty of things to keep the kids busy.

My three favorite people in the whole World.

At this point in this post, I am wondering if I just change the tile of it and call it July 2017. July was an even busier but fun month for us. Lots of family getaways! We did our annual trip to the Lethbridge Street wheeler. The street machine week end. And we also watch a hot air balloon take off from the parking lot in Walmart.

Street wheeler 2017!

July 10th, the boys and I ended up doing one of those unplanned outings after running errands in Lethbridge. The best kind of outings!
We went to the Galt Museum where they played games, won prizes and ended up with a 50% coupons for fort whoop-up which was going to expire the next day. So, we went to fort whoop-up. Fun place to visit. The boys like it. But then, my boys like museums. I really recommend places like the Galt Museum and fort whoop-up. The Galt museum is really interesting because a few of their exhibits are temporary, so don't always see the same thing. Some of course are permanent. Read the history about the buildings themselves. It's quite fascinating! I think anyway.

July 14th, We planned to go camping in Crowsnest Pass but couldn't find a place to pitch our tent. We ended up staying at the BCMI in Coleman. We were impressed with how clean the place was. We spent two nights there. It turned out to be a fun family getaway even though we didn't get to camp. We still spent all day outside. And went "home" only at night. We took a day trip to Sparwood so we could visit its green giant, the unmissable largest truck in the World. We went to the river and played there. And visited a few shops and ate at the local diner in Coleman. True to ourselves, we hit the museum in Coleman and Blairmore.

We're almost done July, I promise. I could probably have just told you to go check out my Facebook timeline to see what we did last year but where is the fun in that, right? Haha. I think, there'll be a part 3 to this year in review because August and September were equally busy.

July 22nd, Another biking trip but this time, to Fernie. The drive to Fernie was peaceful. We stopped in Fernie for breakfast, and met with Kyle and his wife at the Mt Fernie Provincial Park. From there, we went to see if we could check-in in our hotel room early but ya nope we couldn't so we went for a walk by the river just across the parking lot of the hotel, the Fernie Stanford Resort. Nice hotel by the way. Great pool area! Lunch time came so we went to eat at a Vietnamese food truck. Food was great! Then I took Marc back to Kyle and while they were biking, the boys and I went and visited Fernie. Of course, we checked out the thrift store, the museum, and enjoyed some treats at the Bakery there and when time came to check in at the hotel, we got some fruits at the store and headed to the resort. We checked in, got changed, and hit the pool. It was a blast! Yann went up and down the slide all the time we were there while little Marc just swam around. Marc came to join us after his biking was done. We swam some more then decided to go back in our room. We waited for the restaurants to open, then went back into town to grab some food. And check out the bike shops. We went for a walk along the river after a delicious supper at the Loaf and when all that was done, we went in our room and just watch tv. The next day, we went back home.

Fernie!

My MTB riders!

Kyle got us hooked on this!
Listening to stories of the past.

At the river after supper.
He had a great time biking. So happy he gets to do that on a regular basis.
He never hears a no when he wants to go riding.

Good place to eat at.
July 28th, It was one of those day where I told my boys to get in the car, and together we'll decide where to go. They wanted to go back to Milk River. I took them to Warner first since I knew there was a tiny Dino museum there that we haven't visited yet then we headed to Milk river. Turned out it was a nice little museum to visit. The Devil's Coulee Dinosaur and Heritage Museum. I like places like this. They're like little semi precious gem, not too fancy but still precious enough to have a good time. From there we went to the humble little park and had snack before heading back home. Fun, inexpensive outing with my babies.

My little cutie pie.
My other cutie pie.

This is it for July and for part 2. Sorry for the long post. Part 3 will be coming probably later tonight or next week.
