August 02, The boys had to choose between Writing on stone provincial park or Head smashed-in buffalo jump. They chose the latter. On our way there, we cranked the music up in the car, we sang like we were rock stars, and missed the turn off to the buffalo place. Once we got to the right location, I found out I had forgotten my camera and my phone. We caught a ride in the shuttle just because it looked fun and made it in time to watch the Pow Wow. To quote Yann: -"It was FASCINATING and AMAZING". I have been in this country for over a decade and have never been to a Pow Wow. How lame is that?! The drumming, singing, and dancing were almost magical. The dancers were so beautiful and so were the clothes that they were wearing. I was so glad I didn't have my phone. I was able to just enjoy the moment. We went through all the different exhibits that they had and enjoyed the view outside. The weather was perfect! From there, we decided to drive to Fort Mcleod for more adventures. We ate lunch at the Scoop Coop then walked to the Fort Musem to watch the NWMP musical ride and tour the fort. It was so much FUN!!! I definitely recommend head smashed-in buffalo jump. It was our favorite! We missed papa so we surprised him with a present from the gift shop at the fort.
August 7, We went to Fernie again. Day trip just to ride some of the trails as a family. The ride there was again peaceful. We stopped at Crowsnest Lake to stretch our legs then off to Fernie we went. We grabbed some breakfast in town, and started setting our bikes for our little adventure. It was a lot of fun. We checked the bike shops again. And ate in town for lunch. We went to Mt Fernie Provincial Park too before heading back home.

August 09th, Quick trip to Blairmore. Marc and Kyle decided that it would be a great idea to go to Blairmore for a quick bike ride on buck fifty during a week day, after work. It was a long night for all of us. They had fun and the boys thought it was awesome to go to Blairmore after school. Crazy mountain bikers!

August 12th, we went back to Crowsnest pass but this time, we biked as a family and did some hiking and exploring. We went to Lundbreck falls, hiked to rainbow fall in Coleman, and enjoyed another great trip to one of our favorite place.

I totally go overboard with pictures sometimes. Next would be the pictures from Lundbreck falls. One of my favorite place to be at. There are so many beautiful places to visit.
August 19th started out really well but ended up with a broken collar bone and a few cracked ribs. Another mountain biking trip to Fernie! It definitely didn't end the way we expected it to.
What a day it was. The boys started their biking at Mt Fernie provincial park. We all went up to the Island Lake Lodge where I dropped Marc with Kyle. They did lazy lizard while the boys and I did some hiking. We met at the end of the Lazy Lizard trail then the boys went back up to pick up Kyle's truck at the lodge. From there, we headed out to the Fernie Alpine Resort so the boys could hit the ski hill and do some more biking. Once I dropped Marc, the little ones and I headed to town for lunch. I barely got my food when Kyle called and said that Marc hurt himself. I went back to the Alpine Resort, waited for one of the guy to bring Marc down from the ski hill then followed Kyle to the little infirmary. Marc didn't look good at all. I drove him to the Fernie hospital, few hours later, he came out. Broken collar bone! He was high on drugs, so naturally, I drove back home, and took care of him for the next couple months or so. Having him home was great. The boys loved having their dad home all day. Because of it, we were able to go places during the week. It was a blessing to have him home. A couple days after his accident, he was having more pain, so we went back to the doctor. We found out that the pain he was having was from multiple cracked bones. He had to do physio for months.

August 24, 25 and 26: CORNFEST!
One of our favorite event to attend. I go crazy over cornfest. I save money in advance so my boys can enjoy all three days of the event and go on rides, play games, and eat all the mini donuts they want. We go to the parade in the morning, then wait for the evening to come so they can go on the rides, and eat some unhealthy food (that's Thursday). Marc and I like to try other food from the food trucks and if the flying Hawaiian food truck is there, I always get my donuts and pina colada from them. Western Tractor has a free breakfast for the community, so we go there Friday morning and enjoy pancakes and sausages.Even though Marc was not working this year, he stayed home a lot because of the pain from his accident. The only time he came with us was in the evening, and Saturday. We did meet our friends at cornfest which was great! New to the fair this year were FMX, Dr Von Houligan's carnival of calamities. I am looking forward to cornfest 2018!
