Half way through the year!

I can't believe It's June already! I haven't started writing about two thousand eighteen yet, and I'm already tired of this whole blogging thing, just kidding!

Yann turned six this year. It went too fast for my liking. Beside showing a bit more attitude, he hasn't change too much from last year. Still my loving and caring child. We love our big boy. He loved being in kindergarten this year and made a few friends. He is obsessed with monkey bars. Every playground we go to, he just plays on the monkey bars. He gets blisters in his palm that barely have time to heal because he just can't stop being a monkey. Both Marc and him have their own bedrooms now and they are loving it. This year for his birthday, he asked if he could invite some of his friends to come and celebrate with him, so we did. He had fun! As with every birthday, our children always decide what they want to eat, so this year, Yann asked for panago pizzas and cheese bread so that's what we did. I put up some decorations, didn't plan any games, and got a cake ordered at Co-op. The day of his actual birthday, we celebrated as a family since it was also papa's day. And Marc baked and decorated a cake for him. They have such an awesome dad! The day of his birthday party was relatively stress free. Knowing that I didn't have to cook, or entertain the kids was fantastic. The children went crazy playing in the loft and that was great. His best friend from Church came too. I honestly forgot to take photos of his party until it was time to eat the cake. Silly me.

The cake Marc made.

His cake was delicious. Chocolate and coconut.
You can't go wrong!

My birthday buddies.
Still his favorite to date.
I don't think anyone can top it.

Of course, Marc had his turn blowing the candles.

Marc also had a birthday this year. This little dynamite of ours turned 5! This kid is a fire cracker, a dynamite even. He has a whole lot of attitude! He is a happy boy but man, he knows how to push your button. We love him to pieces. He definitely keeps us on our toes. He is one smart cookie and a fast learner. It only took him twenty minutes or less to figure out how to bike without the training wheels. I took them off, handed him the bike, and off he went. Love it! He loved preschool. Next year, he is off to kindergarten. He can't wait. Yann and him are going to Barnwell school this fall. So far, they've been to a different school every year haha. From Saint Patrick's to Central and soon Barnwell. We are quite excited about this. They can bike to school now, no more driving to Taber. Anyway, Marc had a birthday party as well. It was such a snowy day out but still, a few of his classmates made it to the party, so Marc was beyond happy. He wanted the same food for his party than his big brother did. He had fun with his friends. Two of them were so entertaining to talk too, it was hilarious. We all had a great time! Most of the pictures from Marc's birthday are in my camera which I still haven't uploaded to my computer.

Winter was crazy! We had tons of snow, and it was cold. The boys had a lot of snow days where they got to stay home from school. They had a lot of fun playing in the snow especially if it wasn't too cold out. By the beginning of April. everything was starting to melt, so they played in the puddles.

This was the perfect private fort.

Our complex owns their own quad for snow removal.
Marc is in charge of removing the snow on the week end or during the week if he's not at work.
Other than that, Orville takes care of it while Marc is working.

Marc always trying to get over the fence.

Brother Porter or brother Hansen come with their big machine
when the snow fall has big too big. Our "street" is always plowed.
The superheroes came out to play.

February 02nd, Marc started renovating little M's new bedroom. The boys were supposed to share this bedroom but after the renovations, Marc built beds for the boys and trying to fit both beds in that one small room just didn't make sense. And Yann really needed a room of his own too because Marc kept talking and keeping him awake at night. The boys are quite happy not having to share a room any more. Grateful for my husband for being so handy, hard working, and good at doing renovations.

The BEST DAD ever, and husband too!

April 05th, The boys tested for their new belt! Yann is the senior student in their taekwondo class followed by Marc. When they started two years ago, they were doing karate then their teacher left so someone took over the dojo and from karate they went to taekwondo. They are both loving it! Yann's teacher approached me a week ago about switching Yann to the older kid's class (7+ years old) because of how good he is becoming, and how focus he is.
April 07th, they received their new belt at an award ceremony in Taber. Yann went from gold to purple and Marc from green to gold. I love that they do martial art. At the end of this month (June 28th), they will be testing for new belts again. Marc will go from gold to purple, and Yann, we don't know yet. Blue maybe? The award ceremony this time will take place at the restaurant.

April 12th, Central School had their annual Family dance. I was so proud of my Yann going on the dance floor by himself and dancing.  Watching my usually shy boy dancing and showing his moves was fantastic. He didn't want me to dance close to him so I kept my distance. Loved it. The Marcs warmed the bench like pros haha. Yann and I had a great time.

There's probably a lot of things we have done that I haven't talked about so like I said before, check out Facebook and Instagram. I post there more often than here. I will make an effort to post here regularly.

May 07th, We chose one of our family home evening night to start our garden. This is one of our favorite thing about having our own place and living here. Being able to grow a garden AGAIN!!! We missed it. We had our lesson, sang our songs, and went out and started on the garden. We all had a blast! We made sure the boys pitched in and did their part. We worked the soil first, and few days later got the seed to plant. The boys planted the onions, and pumpkins on their own, and Little M helped me with the carrots, and Yann with the lettuce. The beans, and peas I did when Marc was at work. I go in my garden almost daily. Making sure they are growing well, pulling weeds, and just enjoying the fact that we have a vegetable garden again. Yesterday, we ate lettuce from our own garden. They tasted so good!

Brother Johnson let's us use part of his field
for our veggie garden. We love him!
Gotta make them work!

Prepping the soil for the lettuce

Yann worked on the plot for the carrots!
Watering the strawberries. They are so good at doing it.
They already had strawberries from our garden

The boys onions are even bigger now.
I just haven't had the time to snap some pics yet.
Just something I did when Marc was at work.
It gets muddy when it rains so this work for keeping your shoes mud free.

The peas a few weeks ago!
Lettuce!
All washed and ready to eat.
